DON’T MISS WOO, CHIANG MAI

Woo is a special place. When I arrived one evening, I found it tucked back from a dark street in what seems like a quiet part of Chiang Mai — it appears unassuming except for the large illuminated sign on the street that states its name. I’d read about their cafe on several best of Chiang Mai lists and wasn’t really sure what to expect, but, my goodness, was I delighted.

The building feels like an old house, and there is a big porch area with couches for lounging and dining. Inside, there are beautiful wood tables, and huge bouquets of flowers and greenery everywhere… it’s gorgeous and incredibly comfortable.

I came for dinner with my book and never wanted to leave. The gin and tonic was exactly what I needed (and perfectly mixed), and the fish with peppercorns was so tasty I ate far more than I should have. Unfortunately, I was so full I didn’t have room for any of their cakes, but they looked wonderful. Must go back for more. Highly recommended.
